KS Series - Seismic Rack Cabinets

Built on the successful KabinPLUS platform, KS Series seismic cabinets are designed to keep information technology equipment safe in facilities located in areas with high earthquake risk.

Consistency In Features

All standard features of KD Series cabinets such as door perforation, color options, outer dimensions are also preserved in KS Series seismic cabinets. Single-point or 4-point perforated doors can be selected. Both types of door options have successfully passed seismic tests. Same cable management and airflow management accessories or ones with similar structure can be selected.

Adjustable 19 Inch Mounting Frame

• Welded heavy gauge steel 19 inch mounting frame
• Front and rear mounting frames are independentlyadjustable with 25 mm steps in depth axis
• Equipment mounting depth between front and rearmounting frames can be changed. (A)

Attachment and anchorage

For achieving seismic resistance, as important as the standalone cabinet design and certifications are, it is equally important to ensure that the cabinet is properly attached to the particular building.


Seismic cabinets shall be attached to the building by following rules described in their installation manual, which is prepared by their manufacturer mimicing type-test arrangement.

Fixing and anchoring elements used must have seismic resistance certificate.

Seismic Accessories

Designed for use in raised floor applications “Seismic Base Stand” accessory is tested for its seismic resistance and certified.


All door and side panel options for KD and KS Series cabinets have been tested for their seismic resistance. During tests none of them have been opened or deformed. Both one-point and four-point locking types or split type doors can be selected in seismic cabinets. Similarly, fixed type or hinged type side panels can be used.

Level Adjustment

In aisle applications, all cabinets must be fixed to the floor at the same height to ensure proper positioning of airflow management accessories.


The base frame of KS Series cabinets can be separated from the cabinet framework (or delivered separately) and fixed to the concrete floor or seismic base stand by adjusting their level in advance. After this comparably easy process, each cabinet framework can be fixed to its own base frame and easily bayed to each other.

  • Compatible with EN 60297-3-100 and EIA-310D for 19 inch equipment mounting
  • Tested and certified by internationally accredited laboratories for complience to IEC / EN 61587-2, Telcordia NEBS GR63 Zone 4, IEC / EN 60980 (Nuclear facilities),
  • Grounding and protection circuit comply with EN 60950.
  • Mounting rails, top panel, side panels and doors are electrically bonded to the cabinet frame. Additional grounding terminal is fixed on the frame for common bonding network connection.
  • Perforated doors have 85% relative open area - calculated in compliance with DIN 24041 Perforated Plates Standard
  •  Unless otherwise stated standard packaging is used.
  • Cabinet framework and two sets of welded mounting frames thatcan be adjusted independently in depth axisare made of steel.
